Milford resident Laura Ramos, an ex-special education teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport, had been out on $50,000 bond as she awaits trial following her arrest in June last year.
On June 22, she was pulled over on in Waterford for distracted driving.
Police said that during the stop, there was a 19-year-old in the passenger’s seat who was under an Order of Protection regarding Ramos, as he was one of her alleged victims.
By making contact with her victim, Ramos violated the conditions of her bond, prompting a judge this week to raise it from $50,000 to $250,000.
Ramos, 32, had been charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault. She now faces new charges that include distracted driving and criminal violation of a protective order. She has since posted her bail and is out of jail. She is due back in court at a later date to answer the charges.
